Today starts a new challenge

calendarToday marks Day 1 of a 30 day challenge put on by The Fit Club Network. Challenges like these are a great way to get motivated. I personally love them because it gives me accountability and I love being challenged by others. Dave from The Fit Club Network is definitely a guy that will give me a run for my money but I am looking forward to it! Bring it on!

Here is the challenge:

You need to create a plan, for 30 days, to follow faithfully

You need to eat CLEAN.
I mean NO ALCOHOL
NO WHITE SUGAR
NO WHITE FLOUR
NO FRIED FOODS
NO PROCESSED FOODS

Focus on:
Lean Proteins
Whole Grains
Fruits
Vegetables
Healthy Fats

I have been eating clean and close to the source for several weeks now and have noticed a huge increase in energy and overall good health. I will do great on all of the set forth challenges except for the no alcohol. I am not a drinker by any means but do like to, on rare occasion, have a gluten free beer when out with our friends. This Friday is one such occasion.

Here are my stats for Day 1

  • 5’10″
  • 179.5 lbs
  • 12.1% body fat.

I hope to take some simple before pictures tonight or tomorrow. Time will tell.

This challenge has also motivated me to start one for some people in my office. I used to do these quite a bit but haven’t for the last year. I was able to get 4 other people signed up to start a 30 day challenge on Monday. Should be a good time!
