Subway Over Takes McDonalds

I read an article lately about how Subway has overtaken McDonald’s based on the number of restaurants. Subway touts that they have 31817 restaurants in 91 countries. McDonalds website just says that they have over 31000 locations.

This sort of surprised me as it seemed like McDonald’s were on every street corner.  Then I started to remember the many times I have walked into Wal-Mart in the last few years only to see the common corner McDonald’s gone; some times replaced with a Subway.  Seems that Wal-Mart, in at attempt to improve their image, is ditching McDonald’s for a more healthier option.  I could think of worse things to happen to both chains and it seems to be helping Subway.

Will the strength of Wal-Mart push Subway to be the new face and image of “fast food”?  Will kids soon be crying for a kids meal at Subway instead of a Happy Meal at McDonald’s? Time will tell.

i’m a big fan of subway. i just tried their new Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Really good. I don’t remember the last time I ate at McDonalds. Probably on our Wyoming trip.

I cant really tell you the time I had either place. Neither one really fits into my gluten free lifestyle.
