P90x Primal Style – Week 2

Week 2 of my P90x Primal challenge was a bit difficult. I had a medical procedure done on Wednesday that required me to fast for at least 24 hours before hand and to be dehydrated at least 12 hours before. Normally intermittent fasting is a good thing amongst the Primal crowd but fasting combined with dehydration combined with some of the other medical preps I had to do, I was left feeling very weak and tired. Because of all the prep, I wasn’t able to get my normal P90x Shoulders and Arms workout in. I just didn’t have the energy or desire.

Upon waking from the procedure that afternoon, I was tired and hungry. My wife did a great job of getting foods back into my system slowly and over the course of the day, my energy levels came back. Thursday morning I woke up and attempted to do some yoga with my wife but my energy levels were still rather low for even that. I did manage to play basketball that night but my game wasn’t 100%.

Friday I was back into the swing of things and was able to blast out a great P90x Legs and Back workout. Saturday I skipped Kenpo and instead did a nice 3 mile run in my Vibrams complete with a few sprints at the end.

My diet over the week was quite good. I did eat some small servings of grain Wednesday afternoon but at that point, I needed food and chicken noodle soup sounded like it was Heaven sent. If you ever get the change to taste my wife’s chicken noodle soup, you will think that it was sent from Heaven as well!
