P90x Challenge – Week 6

Week6

Week 6 seemed to be getting somewhere for me.  I did end up having to skip one workout but my stamina is getting better.  I think all the different types of pushups have really made me sore this week and even have to do the modified version just to get in all the reps but I do feel stronger.  My favorite workout this week was Plyometrics although I ended up having to skip the rock-star and hot foot moves.  It was really hard on my knees and didn’t seem to have a modified version for low-impact.
I do enjoy the P90X routines but really get tired of hearing Tony’s voice so may have to turn off that narration every now and then.  :)

Last week was another struggle for me, but I’m starting to turn it around. I needed to get back into the swing, but wasn’t up for dealing with Tony Horton, so I opted for the EA Fitness program on the Wii. It’s a really good full body workout and I thought that I could use some full body workout after a couple weeks of not nearly as much working out.

This week has been pretty good so far. Looking forward to keeping up the momentum.

I am quite proud of myself for last week. I managed to do all of the workouts except for Saturday’s cardio session. My diet was good but not great and I even managed to get through the weekend without much damage.  I did a 30 hour fast midweek and that really helped to fuel my metabolism. My body fat is down but not in single digits yet. I will say that the program is starting to wear on me a bit.  I prefer not being trapping into set workouts that I know will require me to workout for so many minutes before I am done. I usually like to take cues from my own body on when I have had enough. I am starting to find myself just going through the movements and probably not getting everything out of it as I should. I am looking forward to recovery week just for a break. I hope to finish strong on phase 3.
