I really hate to admit this but I am done with P90x for awhile. Week 10 was a hard week to get through. I have done this workout so many times that I didn’t have the passion that I used to. The workouts became so mundane and I felt like I was just going through the motions rather than giving it my all. I was modifying the workouts to the point where I wasn’t even doing them right anymore. I was skipping plyometrics and swimming instead and I was doing Biggest Loser Yoga instead of YogaX.

The biggest disappointment for me came in my body fat. If fluctuated a little bit up and down but never went on a continuous decline like I was hoping it would. This week I am going to start something new. I am not sure what that is going to be quite yet but you can bet that I will post it on this here blog.

Thank you to everyone that commented on my progress and continued to support me.

I hit a wall and no amount of pushing was going to get me over it. I also have managed to jam the bones in my left foot so all forms of intense cardio were out the window. This week I am taking it easy with some light swimming as my cardio and not weight training. Next week I hope to start a new training program. As of right now, I am not sure what that is going to be. I may join my wife in doing Turbofire or I may do the “300” workout.

Last week was a good week for working out. I did my usual workouts and even mixed in a few misc. things like walking and trail running. My weight and body fat has remained static though. With that said, this will be my last official week of P90x. I have hit a wall with my working out and I feel the only way to overcome it is to switch things up a bit. I know that I only have 2 weeks left of P90x but if my mind is not in it, then would just be wasted anyway.

Even so, I managed to lose some pounds this week and got my body fat done to 10%. 3 weeks left and then I am onto something else!

Shane

Well, last week was my final week with P90X.

There were several factors that came into play. First was that I never got to the point where I felt comfortable with any of the workouts. Second, I really missed a lot and wasn’t seeing the benefits of the workouts. Third, the time commitment was far too much for me. If I had a convenient place to workout during lunch or even if the workouts were 45 minutes rather than an hour-plus, I think I might have been able to handle it, but I just couldn’t make it work. Tony Horton’s annoying countenance wasn’t the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it was certainly a contributing factor.

Instead of doing P90X, I’m going to spend the next 30 days doing the EA Fitness 30-day Challenge on the Wii. I like the workouts a lot more. I can get through them and they are a bit shorter. I know that this is only further evidence that I need to workout more, but for my schedule as well as my current fitness capabilities, this is the way I’m going.

Sorry to be a quitter on P90X, but I’d like to get to a place where I feel I can handle it better. From a fitness perspective, I just felt all along that it was far too advanced for me.

Tyson

I switched things up last week as I am getting a bit run down with P90x. Instead of Plyo on Tuesday I instead went swam laps at my gym. On Thursday, I continue to do the Biggest Loser Weight Loss yoga program. I made Thursday a doubles day. I did Yoga in the morning and went swimming in the afternoon. I skipped the legs and back workout on Friday and didn’t do any cardio on Saturday except for a few walks with the family. Whatever I did worked though because I am down to 170lbs and 10% body fat.
